We launched our activity in Poland in 1991. The first hit was BRAVO, a biweekly for teenagers, followed by TINA weekly a year later, and then our flagship – TeleTydzien. For another year we were adding two or three titles per year to our collection. With time our activity expanded into the domains of printing, radio and the Internet. After 20 years on the Polish market, we are the largest magazine publisher, radio operator and also the third biggest media company in Poland in terms of turnover. At present we publish 33 titles grouped into 10 categories – tv guides, women’s advisory , women’s entertaining, parental, puzzles, youth, computing, gaming, motoring and luxury ones. 6 out of 10 magazines selling best Poland belong to the Bauer Publishing House (ZKDP, newsstand sales,04.2010 – 03.2011; paid magazines). 57 per cent of all Poles read at least one of our titles (PBC, Millward Brown SMG/KRC; 05.2010 – 04.2011 (n= 48 596) ; OTS1+; TG: all). In many categories our magazines hold the leader’s position: we sell over 303M copies of magazines annually but are not limited just to the copy and advertising sale (ZKDP, paid distribution, 04.2010 – 03.2011). We organize the most prestigious competitions , some of them broadcast by the Polish TV stations, i.e. TeleCameras of TeleTydzien, Auto Leader, Woman of the Year, Excellence of the Year, Silver Apples. TeleCameras of TeleTydzien are the biggest media events of the television world in our country. It gathers an audience of over 8 M viewers every year. Only the ski jumping show by Adam Malysz was watched by more.
