Harper’s Bazaar has launched The Bazaar Literary Salon – a new event where Bazaar readers will be able to meet highly acclaimed female authors, publishers and agents.
Taking place on Sunday 20 May 2018 in the private members’ club of The Ned hotel in London, the one-day literary salon will feature talks and panel discussions with contributors and editors at Harper's Bazaar. Confirmed speakers include the acclaimed authors Ali Smith, Jessie Burton, Elif Shafak and Tessa Hadley. Guests will also have the opportunity to hear from publishing industry experts such as Bloomsbury group editor-in-chief Alexandra Pringle and the literary agent Karolina Sutton, who represents clients such as Margaret Atwood and Malala Yousafzai.
Justine Picardie, editor-in-chief, Harper’s Bazaar, says: “Literature has always been at the heart of Harper’s Bazaar — in its 150 year history, it has published Thomas Hardy, Henry James, Virginia Woolf, and we continue to publish some of the greatest writers in the world, including Margaret Atwood, Ali Smith and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I am thrilled to announce the launch of The Bazaar Literary Salon, which will be an expertly curated experience that celebrates talented women in the literary world, and will provide our intelligent, cultured and discerning audience a unique insight into the publishing industry.”
The Bazaar Literary Salon is part of Hearst UK’s wider Big Book initiative, which aims to recognise the best new fiction and non-fiction titles in UK publishing.
